The details:
The House of Thickett 6 week beginner introduction to sewing course is designed to give you the skills you need to begin building your own wardrobe, all with the use of a simple domestic sewing machine.
You will learn the basics of home sewing and gain the confidence to approach sewing projects independently. You will be guided through a range of projects and exercises where you will learn to apply professional looking finishes and create fully functional garments with the use of a simple domestic sewing machine.
Over the 6 weeks you will learn:
A variety of seam finishes that you can apply to any future project
Knowledge of sewing tools and terminology
Pattern cutting and preparation
Make a simple boxy top
Make a pair of boxer shorts/elasticated pants
BYO machine or come use one of ours! All other materials, supplies and equipment will be supplied
Please note, there is a very handsome fluffy cat that lives at this school house.
Tuesday 6 - 8.30pm or Sunday evening 5 - 7.30pm - Starting 1st week of February, 2026
2.5 hours long - 15 hours of tutorial and instruction
$450 (including all materials, supplies and equipment)
